Bull Durham Credo

I believe in the love form everybody,

The truth behind your eyes,

The courage within you,

The fire of someone’s anger,

The connections between us,

Trust, Loyalty, Love.

But being so obsessed about a certain thing is crazy.

I believe in being who you can be

I believe in ghosts that haunt you,

I believe in guilt that you can’t escape,

Cheating, Insults, Stabs in the back.

And I believe in people are not easy to change. (longest)

Dialog

"Good Morning! How did you sleep" My mother quietly asked me. "Fine, whats for breakfast?" I was so hungry over the night; not having a snack before bed. "Pancakes. I ran out of biscuit mixture. Sorry." "Pancakes are fine. Where's dad?" "In his office." It took me awhile to figure out where I was heading to. It takes me a while to wake up. "Hey dad, good morning!" I yawned. "Good morning to you! Hey I need to tell something to the family during breakfast, could you make the table?" I had absolutely no idea what he was going to tell us. Was it something exciting we were going to do today. All I could think of was food. "Breakfast!" my mother yelled. That woke up my sister. "Good Morning everybody!" Leah said with a sleepy voice.

Sunday morning just woke up and the sun is shining. Its breakfast time, and my family is waiting for me. We begin to eat and begin to chat about our dreams we had. It was nice day and I thought nothing good go wrong. Then what’s when my dad declared, “I’m deployed to Kuwait.”

People were shouting, yelling at the top of their lungs. Glitter and flags were waving everywhere. American music was blaring from the gigantic speakers.A woman announced, “They are here!” Right after that, a sea of desert camouflage uniforms stormed in. This was the best moment of my life. But this is only the ending of this story, this same place; where everyone is happy and celebrating. This place; is where it all started.

My life was great, no worries, great friends, and a caring family. That has been that way now and will continue for a very long time. There could be absolutely nothing that could wreck this life. Right now, I was happy, I felt free. Yesterday, I found out that it wasn’t going to be a wonderful life.

Thank You Leah

Every morning I come down stairs and see you eating, minding you own business and happily humming. You give me a smile when you say "Good Morning" and "Good Night". You make me laugh at our mistakes. When ever we fight, it all ways results in a hug. You are there for me when I'm down. When I ever have a question I come to you. You make good suggestions about a situation. You have a great sense of humor. Leah, I'm glad you are my sister, thank you.

The Gymnasium

As I walked into the gymnasium, the bright lights blinded me. I slowly walked through the crowd of people, looking down, not knowing whom Ive stepped on. There was a DJ table with huge speakers. My mother and sister walk behind me as we trot to the back of the gymnasium. Standing blankly was my dad, suited up and ready to go. He had is duffel bags and his suit case beside him. His slouched face told me something that I didn't want to know. He was leaving for Iraq to help transportation battalion. Two years he will be gone, and this will be the last time I will see him for a long time. In this giant room I could feel deep sorrow and hopelessness from everybody. Families were praying in a tight circle, trying to get the best of this moment. Everywhere I looked seemed like the end of the world. Families including men were crying hoping that they will be okay through these long years. I finally realized why there was a DJ there, to keep these people calm. Out of all this chaos, I could smell the sweet and salty taste of barbecue.
I was hungry all day and hadn't eaten all day because of this fear of tonight. Kids were bouncing all around, unaware what was happening during these dark hours.

Grandma's House: Morgan City, Louisiana

As we wind down the soft narrow roads, quiet as a mouse thinking of the joy in this neighborhood. It seems it takes ages for us to reach our destination. The sweet smell of pine and water rushes into my nose. The quiet sounds of birds peacefully chirping, and the trees snapping. There is a man with a radio playing soft rock and rocking in his chair. The flags of purple and gold wave near the car. People are having calm conversations as kids ride bikes like race cars. We finally reach our destination. The larger than life house appears in front of us. The lush garden and open spaces overwhelms me. After this terribly long time, I'm at Grandma's house.
